International P.E.rfect Training in Spain

From June 28 to July 1, 2024, an international training titled “An Autism and Behaviour Management training for P.E. school teachers” (acronym P.E.rfect) took place in Elche, Spain. The event brought together 5 coaches and physical education teachers per country from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Poland, and the Republic of North Macedonia. The main goal of the training was to discuss effective tools and strategies for including children with autism in the educational system, tailored to local conditions. Participants also reviewed and tested a specially developed e-learning platform created within the project.

Such trainings are extremely important and useful as they support the professional development of physical education teachers and coaches. They provide specific knowledge and skills necessary for working with children with autism, improving the quality of education and inclusion in the school environment. The trainings also help create more effective evidence-based strategies and approaches that can be practically applied, leading to better social and educational inclusion of students with autism, enhancing their chances of success. Additionally, sharing experiences and best practices between different countries fosters international cooperation and enrichment of teaching methods. These trainings create a network of prepared and motivated professionals ready to meet the challenges of working with children with special needs. The result is an improved learning environment where all students, regardless of their differences, can develop and achieve high results. Ultimately, such initiatives contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

The P.E.rfect project is an initiative resulting from previous European projects and aims to develop high-quality skills and competencies in physical education and sports teachers. The project “An Autism and Behaviour Management training for P.E. school teachers” – P.E.rfect, is supported by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, in collaboration with organizations from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Poland, and the Republic of North Macedonia.
